I want to know what I have to do to make running a set of 87 IROC five spokes safe on a 68. A buddy of mine just totalled his 68 SS because he had these rims on his car and the wide tires rubbed a hole in his factory brake line, causing him to roll. I would like to run 16 or 17X8" at the smallest. More than likely 245 x 45x 16/17.

they shouldn't go anywhere near the brake lines. I have them on my Nova- which shares the front subframe with the 67-69 F body- and my lines never get within a few inches of the moving tire. how did he have his lines run? were they the correct lines?
