This spring/summer I hope to get some new wheels. I've got the 5 leaf 12 bolt with 14" 60's all around right now, but I really like the looks of the 50's on the back.
What's the largest 50 that will fit on an unmodified 69 rear wheel well with no air shocks? (I've got new gas shocks setting level right now) 15"? 16"? 17"?
Will the 50's ride without rubbing?
How tall can I go? 235,245,255?

I've searched this topic and ended up reading posts from 2000, so any new data will be welcomed. http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/nut.gif

I wish I would have bought 225 and 255/50-17's instead of my 45's but I didn't know Nitto sold them at the time of purchase... I ran old bias ply E/ and L/60-14's, but had to raise my rearend. pdq67

PS., I think a 275/50-17 is just about the largest that will fit with correct b/s..

I think that I posted a bunch of the year 2000 stuff and it is still valid!!

Which nittos? I couldn't find 50 series 17's on their web site. The closest was 255/45's in the 555 tire.

Anyone have a 15" 50 series on the rear of a 69 with no air shocks?

I still think Nitto has 50-17's??? Contact them and ask b/c I think they are about the only ones out there... But I'm really not totally up on tires b/c they change like wheel styles.... pdq67
