Was the 255 a typo? A 245/45/17 is the biggest I think will fit. The 255 (if anyone makes them) would be the same width but 2" taller than the 245.

I've seen the car in person and it's awesome but I think the front size was a mistake. The A520 isn't listed on the Yokohama site any more but several tire store web sites still list it and none have them in 55's The only 245/55/17's on tirerack are not high speed rated. I could be wrong the 55's are not any wider, just taller. I have 235/45/17's on my '69 and tried to put 245's but they rubbed the fender even with smoothed fender bolts. My car may be lowered more than that orange '69 as well...

djd. how about the rim size 17x8.5 when turning.do you think they hit the tie rod or any where. i love that orange 69 can`t get the rims he has. and don`t want ttII`s kool rims are hard to find witout a big price tag. don`t want to run into alot of problems and be able to turn the car lol i like the vortec z wheels page 40 of the new super chevy upper right. what wheels are you running. thanks mike

The only place I had problem with turning was the sway bar end links and that's because of the 2" drop springs not tire/wheel combo. Here's some info on my setup and be sure to do a search because there's some great info out there.

I 55 series tire in the front would look goofy, IMO. That's way to tall. Go with a 40 or 45. I don't think a 8.5 will fit very well in the front either, go with as much bs as possible if you have to run a wheel this wide, like 5.25". I'm running a 17x8 with 5.25 bs and a 255/40 17.

I used longer end links. One of the nuts on the back of the spindle hit the end of the end link when turing lock to lock. Actually broke an end link in half. The longer end links don't put the sway bar ends where I would really want them but now the nut clears as the ends are above the nut. I don't know what my sway bar is other than it's a big thick solid one...
