View Full Version : Headers vibration ?

I installed headers on my 67 camaro about 15 years ago. I had to dent one of the tubes, for the steering box. When I drive my car on the highway I feel vibrations in the steering wheel. After frontend alignments and tire balancing, I go back to the header/steeringbox dilemma. Some one told me that I might want to buy "tight tubes" or "Block hugger" headers, to remedy this. Or should I try to dent the tube more??? The headers are about 10-15 years old.
Thanks
Barry

I would try to stick a piece wood?, or something between the header and steering box and then drive down the street and see if that changes anything. Has it always vibrated? I would'nt think anything has changed there unless your motor mounts have weakened to the point that there is contact now.

It has always had a vibration going down the highway. And the headers have been on for a while. So my guess is the headers vibration on the steering box
