View Full Version : White raised letters. How do you clean them?
supv26 May 16th, 03, 02:07 PM I have B F Goodrich T/A Radial tires with the white raised letters. What is the best way to get them white again. Some of the letters have turned brown. I am careful now not to get tire shine products on them when I shine my tires. I have tried window cleaner, tire/wheel cleaner and tonight I am using a Q-Tip with bleach. Any ideas????????
stingr69 May 16th, 03, 03:08 PM Westley's bleech-white. Spray on, hose off and that's it. I usualy scrub a little but if you keep them up, you will have less work to do at wash time. You might not want to let it dry on any painted surfaces as it is fairly strong. Works great.

brotherdale May 16th, 03, 06:46 PM I usually use Soft Scrub and a scrub brush. Cleans them up very nicely and easier to scrub using the scrub brush compared to an SOS pad.
sixtsevnssrs May 16th, 03, 07:00 PM Westleys bleach white is great stuff. I use a little floor brush. You know the type, long with a handle. If you run out of westleys, the wifes fantastic is pretty good too. I also use the fantastic and an old t-shirt on my suspension pieces before a show. Cleans up the frame and lower control arms, steering parts. Good tip!
Oh...how about cast aluminum wheel cleaner for your aluminum intake, that works pretty good too, if you need to scrub it a little use a toilet brush.
MangeMD May 17th, 03, 11:22 AM Westley's works nice, so does Simple green. I just use a small brush and spray it off.
Fast67 May 18th, 03, 06:06 PM Westleys works good for me. If you wear white sneakers. Works great on them too.
Oncea3Fan May 27th, 03, 06:46 AM after I wash the car,truck or what ever ,I spray
