Hey Guys.........I was wondering what will fit on my 68. I narrowed my 12 bolt a 1 1/2" on both sides. I would like to go with some 17's or 18's just dont know how wide I can go and what backspacing. I also want the car to sit low and get alright traction. Any recommendations on what brand and size tires I should go with? Want to go with disc brakes in the rear, I already got em in the front. I want my car to sit like this 69 Camaro:

or something close to it. Thanks

Well, that car is mini-tubbed and runs 335/30-18's on the rear. The stance is trick as well as the car.
The largest 17" tire that clears without the mini-tub job is a 275/40-17. I'd normally recommend a 17X9.5" rim with 5.5" b.s. with a stock width rear end. If it's EXACTLY 1.5" narrower per side you'd subtract that from the b.s. and choose a wheel with 4" of backspacing, same width (9.5"). To run an 18" version use the same specs, just substitute 18 in place of 17.
If you aren't sure exactly how much narrower your rear is then some careful measuring is in your future.

Does any one know of some nice wheels that come in 18 x 9.5 and 18 x 8?

How much do you want to spend? $400/ea. or up to $1k/ea?

$400 each would be nice but I know you got to spend some serious cash if you want some really nice wheels. I might have to go with 17's
17 x 9.5 rear and 17 x 8 front. Taking all suggestions.
Are those Budnik's you got on your 69?

Yes they are. Great company and product, I'm very happy with them. And, my wheels and tires will probably be for sale in a few months. :D Not that I'm advertising or anything.

Login, Chech out American Racing Wheels. They make more than just TT2's. They have a custom shop that can custom make your backspacing but you'll have to wait. I've been waiting ten weeks for my Hopsters. The price was right, too. $311 each chromed for 18x8's.
