on a 17x8" wheel? I know you can mount the 255/45/17 on 17x8 wheels but is it safe for the 265's?

Just using THIS (http://www.tirerack.net/tires/Spec.jsp?make=Bridgestone&model=Potenza+S-03+Pole+Position) from www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) you can see they say 8.5" - 10" rim width range for a 255/40/17 and 265/40/17's is 9" - 10.5" Here's what they say about rim width range (http://www.tirerack.net/tires/tiretech/tirespecskey.html#rimwidthrange)
