Just bought a bumper jack for my 68 Camaro. It's suppose to be an original right out of a guys 68 that he is parting out. I found nothing on it that says 68. It has a 3-sided mast that is silver. On the jack housing is the following:
U.S. Pat. No. 2.962.261
There is the letter "A" in under where the lug wrench handle fits in to graemlins/waving.gif the jack housing. There is the letters "A-B" on the jack base. That is it. The mast is silver, and the jack and jack base are black and so is the lug wrench. Does this sound like an "ORIGINAL"???? Just curious if I bought the real thing! Not a biggy though!
Thanks

There is a rivet on the side of the jack mechanism that has the date code stamped into it.
Heres one on E Bay that is very clear to give you an idea of what your looking for.

The orginal jack in my 68 Camaro has a grey jacking mechanism & base plate; tire iron is black. Otherwise it appears to be the same as yours
