My 69 z/28 has 4 rally wheels, size 15's with FW code. I know that 69's should have YH coded wheels, does anyone know what the FW coded wheels are supposed to be for? Thanks alot for any info.

Oramac68 Jan 23rd, 04, 05:50 PM If memory serves me right they are for Monte Carlos. A while back someone posted a link to a chart with the wheel codes. Maybe someone will chime in with the link. dyno jonn Jan 24th, 04, 03:38 AM From one of the Pontiac sites... "the FW was the 73-77 Chevy Rally wheel from the Monte Carlo and Chevelle. They were the same outer rims, same offset, and the same bolt pattern, but the center sections were the Chevy versus the Pontiac." rszmjt Jan 24th, 04, 12:07 PM Original 69 dated YH Rally wheels also have a noticeable wider cooling slot in the wheel, and the corners of the slots were slighly different, put a early YH wheel next to the FW wheel and you will notice this difference! YH wide slot wheels ran from Appox. 2/20/69 and ended in approx. Sept/69. The YH wheels were still made after Sept./69 but the slot got smaller. The YH Wheel was also used on 70 Monte Carlo, and i think the FW code started late 70/ early 71. |
