View Full Version : U.S. Indy Mags
Mister G Feb 2nd, 04, 01:19 PM i just picked up 4 rims and tires. Two wheels are 15 by 10 and two are 15 by 8. The tires are usable but i will replace them. The wheels are stamped U.S. Indy Mag on the back. Has anyone heard of them? They need a good cleaning but look pretty good.

Something like these?
Mister G Feb 3rd, 04, 09:36 AM Yup! Mine didn't have the US cap but other than that they look identical. Paid $25/each.
pdq67 Feb 3rd, 04, 05:42 PM My old 14" x 7" and 9" Fentons look the same!

Mister G Feb 3rd, 04, 07:27 PM Trying to figure out what type tires to run. Any suggestions? I might use these newer wheels to house street legal slicks as an option to what I currently use for everyday driving.
jg95z28 Feb 4th, 04, 07:33 AM Redlines would look cool... but I don't think they make them wide enough for 10-inch rims. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
Mister G Feb 16th, 04, 09:50 AM I still haven't purchased any tires yet but my dilema is that the backspacing on these rims is 3.75" and being a 10 inch rim they sit out beyond the body. I thought about BF Goodrich 295/50 by 15 which look good but not sure if that will pose a problem. Any thoughts?
pdq67 Feb 16th, 04, 01:12 PM My rims still have old E-60/14's and L-60/14's mounted on them up on the shelf out of the way.
The L's measured right at a modern 298-53/14 so were no stretch 60's!! 11.5" section x 26.5" tall on 9's. And they are 3.5" b/s and just did stick out right even with the chrome so didn't look all that bad to me..
I can see where 10's will stick out an inch more!!

69X11SS Feb 17th, 04, 11:03 AM Click on my link below and you can see what Fenton 15 x 7's (205/55R 15's) and 15 x 12's (295/50R 15's) look like on a second gen. The 15 x 12's will not fit under a 1st Gen without narrowing the rear and mini tubbing it. I have had these wheels on this car for more than 20 years and they are period correct for the 70's.
Mister G Feb 18th, 04, 12:22 PM Thanks for the insight. What brand of tire are they? I was looking at Tire Rack on the internet and getting some prices and comparisons.
69X11SS Feb 20th, 04, 04:01 AM The tires are BFG Radial T/A's
Mister G Feb 20th, 04, 09:27 AM Just ordered two BFG 295/50X15. Should be here in two days. $229 including 2 day FedEx shipment.
pdq67 Feb 21st, 04, 05:11 PM He, He!!
There ya go, a modern L or maybe an M-50/15!!
