can I fit a 275-50-15 tire on a 15x7 ralley wheel on a 68 camaro? is the wheel too small? is the tire too big for the wheel wells?

The best way to do this is for you to go over to The Tire Rack's web site and check out that tire size in a brand you like and see what width rims are recommended for them.

And then do a search here for the info b/c this subject has been stomped to death!! AND recently, too......

I run 275-60/15 on my 15x7 rallys, they fit. I wont get the best tire wear, but they fit.

Nope , rearend is dropped 1 inches and I run KYB's.There's about .75 inch clearance between tire and inner wheelhouse surface. About the same maybe a little less on the wheel lip ( quarter panel ) These rims have the perfect offset to get away with a 275.
