I'm about to buy a 1988 iroc-z, it has centerline rims on it, and the owner said the front end floats. You have to try to keep it in your lane. He said someone told him it's because the stock front rims have a certain offset. It also has a 383, i'm not sure what was done to the suspension to accomodate this. Thanks

I am not sure about the stock rim offset, but I would advise that you take the car to an alignment shop and have them inspect the front end. Springs, shocks, rims, tires all affect car handling. There are additional front end components such as tie-rod ends and ball joints that also stabilize the front end ... If the rims are not bent or otherwise damaged, look for other/additional reasons why the front end may be loose...
