I got some older rally rims that I want to screw my slicks to. I know where to buy the screws. I'm just looking for some suggestions or "how to do" advice from someome who has done this. I hate learning by mistakes $$$$.

The first item is to measure the thickness of the wheel rim and tire bead. You do not want a longer screw than what is measured, otherwise, there's a hole in the tube.

I usually use 10 screws per side of wheel and have no problem with tire-to-bead slippage.

Use the lug nut hole as a guide to drill on the rim circumference for spacing. Drill through the rim and maybe a 1/4 inch into the bead. Use a drill stop for depth. Use a #3 Phillips screws and have at it.
