Ok guys I really want to buy some wheels for my car. I have a 69 camaro with minor rear lip work. I was hell bent on getting some 17" torque thrust IIs when I noticed that I could score some cragers for way cheaper. I am looking to purchase them from summit racing, only because I usually get my parts within 2 days. I am trying to get my car finished for a show in 2 weeks. Getting these wheels ordered will take a load off my mind. Here are the sizes and options that I have found on summits web site.

As you can see I can get the rear cragers for almost the price of one TTII! I dont mind the chrome finish over the polished. My car is Black with no stainless trim other then the windows (might have it painted body color) and chrome bumpers. If I went with the cragers what rear spacing would be the best? 5.5 or 4.5? will a 8 inch front rim with 4.5 spacing still fit? car is lowered with hotchkis front springs. Im leaning towards the Cragers only because of the $$ factor. Let me know what you think, Thanks for stayin with me guys.

I LOVE the look of the Cragars personaly. I had them back in the day. The TT are pretty too but the Cragars are "Old School", so am I :cool:

The chrome was lousy on the originals and would peel off in a few years but I will be buying another set again regardless. Hope the plating is better now. :rolleyes: You know they are probably cheaper for some reason.

I was just looking around on the web and saw an old post that said the 17s are nothing more then a 15 inch wheel welded to a 17 wheel. If so that is going to look stupid. Wheels are so damn expencive, and just think Im lookin at the cheap ones! I got my car painted for the cost of some billet wheels :eek:

hey those arnt that bad looking. I was looking at the centerline wheel deal and you can get some decent wheels for $165 with a custom back space. I was looking in to that.

I got a quote for $950 SHIPPED TO MY DOOR for all 4 TT ][ polished
(2) 17x9.5 (5.5" backspace custom) 5x4.75 pattern
(2) 17x8 (4.75" backspace 505-7863) 5x4.75 pattern

I emailed the two large dealers on Ebay that sell these rims and the best price I was quoted was $950 out the door from biggjdoggwheels@hotmail.com, and its $19 more for valve stems and chrome lugs.

Where are you seeing this CenterLine Wheel Deal?

Not bad looking??? And to think, thirty years ago, people bought American Racing instead of Cragar 'cause they they didn't mind a little rust, and the AR's were cheaper. lol

And, those wheels were near $900 with shipping, valves, and lugs, from Summit. Summit had the best price anywhere, in stock.

I was looking in to these. shipping is $70 and they take about 3 weeks to make.

17 x 9.5 for $169 aint bad

Yea those are a little too blan for my taste, I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and get the whole set (NEW) from that guy for TT ][s over the Centerlines myself.

I like those centerlines, don't see those every on every Camaro. What would be best fit 17x7 or 17x8 for a 67 Lowered with hotchkis springs? What back space front and rear?

i have a 69 camaro that has been lowered 3" with kyb shocks and hotchkis springs. i am also looking for a 17" rim tire package that will fit. 17x8 i the front and 17x8 or 10 in the rear. does anybody have sure fit numbers? i want the stance to be low, agressive, with little gap. (i don't want the hotwheel look). also, i've found the best prices for rims at wheelsforless.com. (includes stems, lugs, caps, and locks) post what you think about them. that's probally where i'll end up buying my wheels.

These will fit a 69 Camaro. As for Tires, I would recommend a 45 in the rear to fill a little better, many run this combination and are very happy with it:
