I'm trying to go for the pro-touring look on a budget, has anyone seen Z06 wheels on a first gen?

My first dilemma is that the fronts are 17x9.5, now is the problem in the tire hitting the frame, the inner fenderwell or the tie rod (25.5 in tire with a 2" drop)?

Also the rears are 18x10.5, I read that the biggest you can go on a stock setup is 9.5 in the rear, I can get at least 2.5 in. more by relocating my shocks and doing a minor tubb while keeping the factory tank and spring setup. Has anyone done this?

I know I'll have to use some thick wheel spacers.

If I can't go with this setup I might consider the 05 vette wheels because it's 18x8.5 up front and 19x10 in back. 19' seems kind of tall but its got to work out well if it's on a new vette.

Look on Ebay. Some companies offer the Z06 style wheels for standard C5 tire sizes, ie 17 x 8.5" and 18 x 9.5". I've thought about this combo several times as they should fit fine with about 2" wheel adapters.

just checked out ebay, never knew they had so many types of z06's, for pretty cheap, I guess my only dilemma is the rears, I really want to try to fit a 10.5in with at least a 295

You'll need wheel adapters, not spacers. A spacer has only holes, so you would need really long studs. An adapter is bolted to the hub and then your wheel is bolted to the adapter. Just in case you didn't already know.

Here is a picture of my car with Centerline Lazers, 18X8 and 18X9 respectively. Very similar to a Z06 wheel without all of the headaches...

they look good, almost identical, what size tires?

They are Toyo Proxes T1-S - 235/40 and 255/45

I really like your Centerline Lazer wheels, but can't seem to find them on the Centerline website. Are they no longer made? Did the wheels fit with no spacers?

That's odd, they were there for 03, under the "Sundance Series"..but now they are not, I just tried to find them.. I would call them and inquire. No spacers are necessary, made to you custom backspace. I did 4.75 in front and 5.5 in the back. Well, at least I know that my wheels will be unique!
