What are the hazards of driving around a vehicle that has "too much" oil in it?
What can this damage, if anything, or why is it not recommended?

What can this damage, if anything, or why is it not recommended? coach420 Jul 12th, 01, 10:22 AM Contact with the crankshaft will inject air bubbles (foam) into the oil, which will then be pumped throughout the engine and reduce lubrication. angie rs/ss Jul 12th, 01, 10:37 AM I've always been told it can help blow a head gasket as well. squarles Jul 12th, 01, 12:36 PM Ditto what coach said, air bubbles in the oil due to contact with the reciprocating assembly will reduce lubrication. It will also blow oil out the breathers and make a hell of a mess.
