We just dropped a 350 with a 700R4 into a 69 tonight. It seems to me the crossmember is not quite right. Does it need a higher mount or do I need to build a new member? The front of it seems to ride right up on the rear of the tranny pan.

Those of you who have done this, help me out please

B&M has a kit to switch a third gen. to a th350 from a r700, it might also make a swap cross member for a first gen to a 7oo. You should e-mail em and check at http://www.bmracing.com/

I used a TH400 crossmember that I modded by welding a longer tranny mount pad on. I think I also moved it back slightly but it was two years and three projects ago.
