For my 68 RS 327ci;
I purchased a new lower aluminum crank pulley two grove from a catalog, said to fit the SB Chevy 1955-1968 283-350 engines with the short water pump. Double groove satin pulley lower dia. 6.60". It doesnt match up to my stock one. The new one has the grooves side by side next to each other and the stock one has a 3/4" space between them. Now my power steering pump doesnt line up for the belt.
Anyone have a clue fix or an answer? Everything on my car is stock.

Just a word of advise, pulleys should be purchased in match sets. You may try to get an aluminum water pump pulley and may also need a triple groove crank pulley.

I did purchase the matching waterpump pulley with the crank pulley, I didnt purchase a power steering pulley.
Does anyone know if the pulley for the power steering unit, aluminum aftermarket, is inset to allow it to line up with the double grooves??

You may have to shim it. I had to grind a litle off my Edelbrock pump to get the double groove pulley to fit. My car has a combination of big block and small block power steering brackets but seems like it needs a triple groove pulley.

For power steering you need a three groove lower pulley.
The factory used either a single or double pulley with a third pulley bolted inside to run the PS.

California cars with smog pumps used a double pulley. with the third added for PS.

Z/28 used a special deep groove pulley set. When you stack these deep pulleys three deep the PS pump pulley has to be farther from the block to match up with the third groove.

I think a lot of vettes used the deep groove setup.
