1966 HF 327 Powerglide, A.I.R. 275hp 4bbl full size

1969 HF 350 Powerglide 275hp 2bbl A F X

1978 HF 350 LM1 170hp 4bbl Firebird

That VIN is not from a 1968 RS Camaro. I imagine it's a 350ci from a 1978 Firebird going by those numbers, but they didn't use a D plant code in 1978, did they?

D = Doraville GA. Doraville opened in 1947 but I don't know what they were building in 1968, except that it wasn't Camaros. Later on the plant made Mini Vans like the Pontiac Transport, Chevrolet Venture, and Old Silhouette.

The partial VIN 18D indicates the engine is from some kind of Chevrolet vehicle built in 68, or 78 at the Doraville plant.

I had a '68 Impala with a 327 4Bl Rochester that was a "D" Atlanta built car.
Don't know if they built other than Full size there though.

Look back either above/on top of the oil filter boss or the top of the bellhousing lip and you should be able to find a casting date code. That will clear it up..

It's a 68 327/275 th350 with a 4bbl from a full size car built in Doraville, ga. The info is right in CBTN. Block number should be 3914678 or possibly 3914660.
