I have a new Edelbrock Performer 600 CFM carb on a new Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. This sits on a stock bottem end, 292 cammed, stock head 350. I just put my vac gauge to it, and the vac port next to the screw on the dr side front of the carb has good vac. But the one on the pass side has NO vacuum...HELP !!!!!!

Wayne,

After thinking a little more about this, I started wondering if the two vac sources are different. Maybe one is timed vac and you aren't seeing it until higher rpms?

Just a guess. I really don't know much about edelbrocks anyway. http://personal.clt.bellsouth.net/clt/m/g/mgervin/smilies/confusedbig.gif

I think KZ is running an Edelbrock right now, at least until we get his double pumper running. http://personal.clt.bellsouth.net/clt/m/g/mgervin/smilies/naughty.gif You may want to look him up on the NTC website and give him a call. Have him check his two ports so you can compare.

Thanks Kel, I broke out my paper work for the carb and sure enough, that is a timed port. I gues it isn't hurting anything to have my trans mod. hooked up to it. My distributor is hooked up to the dr side port. The paper work said that if it was an emmision vehicle, to put the dist on the timed port. Thanks for the info.

No Edelbrock for me, still trying to figure out the Holley 750DP.......Just picked up some power valves on the way to work, I'm going to try them when I get home. I'll get that bugger yet......KZ

The trans uses higher vacuum signal to tell it to upshift. Are you getting a late shift under normal driving using ported vacuum?

the vac modulator is supposed to be put to full manifold vacuum. the port on the intake right behind the carb is the best place to hook it up.the vacuum advance should be hooked up to the timed port- it helps fuel economy and around town drivability a lot.
