well i own a 1969 camaro, and was wondering if there are any first gen clubs outhere, that arent for showwinners only. i am a member of http://www.coloradof-body.com
and if anything i would like to see more first and second gens in the club. i am the moderator of the first gen section on the bulliten board.

basically i would either like to join another club, or get a few more members in our already existing one. there are already over 80 members but most are newer cars.

email me at rick69@coloradof-body.com
or just check out the board and see what you think. Also, let me know of any other clubs out there.

thanks
rick

Rick,
I would be intrested to hear what you find out. I have not aquired about any clubs yet due to car construction. I hope to have mine running by spring time. The whole car is being gone through right now. Thought about starting one?

1Fast69chevy, There are quite a few TC members that are here in CO.... I'm not sure of the interest in club membership but several of us in the Springs run into each other on our Sat evening cruise nights here.

Tom

We have many members in castle rock and colorado springs already. The thing that i like about this club is we have cruises to fortcollins, limon, the mountains, colorado springs a couple times a summer. I know there are a couple clubs out there but, i do not care to join some of them because the people who are in them either have way better stuff than i do, or just dont appeal to me. Im not even asking you to join our club, i just want to get some more action posting in there, see more first and second gens on the board, and let people see what its about. We also have discounted dyno days too, and a couple sponsorships that benefit anyone in the club. I am not advertising the club by any means, i just would like to join a club that shares the same interests as me, or get more people to join the club i currently am in. Just stop by the bulliten board section to get a drift of the people in there.

thanks again

The Colorado Camaro Club hosted by Medved Chevrolet in Arvada is made up of mostly 1st gen Camaros. Most of these cars are daily drivers but there are a few show winners. The club will have a display at the Gray Beards show at the Convention Center over the Thanksgiving weekend. This show is my last chance to get the car out prior to winter storage. Hopefully there isn't a snowstorm on the 27th, the day I've got to get the car up to Denver. I live in Monument.

Rick - One of the biggest turn-aways to web forums is forcing folks to login/register just to see what you have to offer. Might want to ask your webmaster if he could make the forums viewable without an establishing an account. When someone lerks and reads a topic that sparks there interest you'll get a user.

There are many 1st gen forums on big sites that seem to get very little traffic. I don't know what the answer is to success but don't let it get you down. One suggestion is since it's a local club site, work on getting the actual club members to use the forums. After all if the members don't use it, it seems hard to imagine outsiders jumping in.

Our club (see sig) started a web ring for camaro clubs and I sent out e-mails to just about every club webmaster I could get an e-mail address too. Out of 30 something clubs I got about 7-8 that joined. It's just for Camaro clubs, there are plenty of other Camaro and hotrod web wrings. The thought behind it was to connect Camaro clubs from all over and it would save webmasters from building links to other clubs as the ring provides the link. The only reason I elaborate on this is it's another example of something you would expect folks to be interested in but they they don't seem to be!!

This is the same club that treated me with disrespect when i attended their Gunther Toody's car show. I'm sorry but if most of the members are already well established in their lives and all have houses, multi-cars etc it does not mean that i can be ignored at a judging event which i entered with entirely because of my age.

The medved club is the one where the guys sit around and talk about the date codes on their spark plug wires. Bored me to tears.

yeah i loved the "concourse" gunther toodies show, seems like everyone there had found a way to put their pants on both legs at a time which made them better than us. My car is by no means a show winner, but i wanted to show off my hard work. Me and my brother entered the show at the age of 17 with our cars, which are fairly nice, but not pristine, we are racers, not showwinners, or daily drivers. I dont think one person who had their car in the show looked at our car without pointing out the flaws. I just wanted to go punch them all and say i am sorry my car is not better than theirs. That is exactly the type of club i am trying to stay away from, and i have not gone back to that show to support it, or even walk around it since. Those snobby arses can sit around and come up with a way to make their bowel movements not stink like everyone elses.

venting i guess

I agree with everyone about the purists taking all the fun outta getting together. We have a local cruise spot that everyone gets together at and during the peak of Summer we'll get over 300 cars. That's more like the venue that I enjoy! Sounds like that's what you guy's are looking for. Maybe next Summer all the CO TCers should find a place to meet to get to know each other?

Let me know your thought

Tom

No Chevelles. That cannot be allowed to happen. j/k

I think the only requirement ought to be that you have some piece of non origanal equipment on your car. If intend to brag about your numbers matching, and how you are running a NOS paper air filter, stay home.

I am definitely interested in a gathering, maybe we should all post our email addresses, or have someone maybe corrolate something. I also like the idea of not being to serious about everything hehe. Castle rock does sound like a good middle point. Will take me no less than 3 tanks of gas to get there but i will do it http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

btw my email is rick69@coloradof-body.com
or rickgoof@aol.com

67 Prostreet: Found out about the Colorado Chevelle Club from your bud David and I am quite happy. First meeting is this Saturday the 23rd at the Country Buffet in Colorado Springs. From Denver take I-25 to exit 150, bear right onto the off ramp, from there turn left onto Academy Blovd, go down to 7665 and the Country Buffet is on the left, just look for the Best Buy. It is from 3-4 and they want you to buy food, but thats good I like food. I am also happy with the idea of meeting next summer at Sonic in Castle Rock, perfect place to meet. Anyways hope to see some people there this Saturday.

Mitch
