Need some advice.
I currently have a 396 big block with iron heads, old style Torker II manifold, holly 850 dbl pmpr. I don’t know the camshaft numbers but it is solid lifers and it has a “medium” lope to it. I would like to change the heads to AFR but the money is sayin’ no. My question is, will a manifold change to a victor jr. help much? I am cruising at 2k rpm, but performance is in the 3k to 7k range.

Personally I would really consider a dual plane even though you are talking about a 7,000rpm cam..

Maybe an RPM or Weiand Stealth??

It will build more midrange grunt for your small BB.

grunt hasn't been a problem. i have 4.11 gears and a t56. i just wandered if the torker II is too restrictive. it is the one that has the carb. sit a little crooked. i like the fast revs that i get with the 396, but i just want a little more umph. i'm just wonderin' if swaping the manifold with the current setup is pointless.
