ok..so i started welding my lift bars up last night....round 12am-3am.......i got my pinion angle set to 4 degrees....so i lift the crossmember, lift the bars to the axle...i figured that would give them the right placement front to back.... so once i did that, i had to jack the crossmember (what the lift bars bolt to) to bend the floorpan so that the crossmemeber was flush with the subframe connectors (this inturn lifted my car....changing my pinion angle and thereby moving the axle forward approx 1/8 inch forward. so i welded the crossmember on, removed the jacks (lowered the car) and when i went to lift the bars up to weld them on (i checked the pinion angle...still at 4 degrees) this is what i saw (go to this webpage) http://ajracing.cjb.net/liftbaroops.jpg
so my question is...can i just weld em on and fill the gap with weld (it will be strong enough) or will the gap cauz suspension bind? i can cut the crossmember welds, but that would take me probably a few hours...so just gimme some input PLEASE! stupid late night car antics! thanks guys for all the help during this install!
Jeff

also, should i replace my 110,000 mile old bushing in the rear before i install these bars? Its still reversible (with lots and lots of cutting welds) sorry for the length.

4 degrees of pinion angle seems like alot. That will be alot more under load, or when you launch and the rearend turns up. I have Southside Machine lift bars and they say to have 0 degrees and when the lift bars work on takeoff you have between 2 and 4 degrees, anymore then that you will extend your shocks to much and inload the rear tires. Atleast this is how I understand it. You can check out SSM website or call them and see.

Just a tip, it's always better to tack parts in place and check everything before making the final welds. I would probably cut it out and try again. If you are really good with the welder then you could try welding the bars on as they are.
