I think they all do, as it is my understanding that all SBC's up to '92 have fairly good interchangeability, what year heads/engines?

They will bolt on but 305 have 58cc chambers most late 350 heads have 76cc chambers. You would loose about 2 comp. points.Hump heads are 64cc or so but no bolt holes 186 or 041 have bolt holes and 64cc chambers but are harder to find.

A young guy I met, about 7yrs ago, put heads off a 350 onto a 305 in a late 80's elcamino. Thinking it was going to be fast graemlins/clonk.gif . I was in the car with him when he took it out for the first time. The car had NO power graemlins/boring.gif

Probably down around 7.75 to 1 CR. would be a good guess if he used compostion headgaskets is why..

And don't forget that some 400 heads were like 80+ cc's too... I don't know if they ever were put on 350's undrilled for steam holes or not??

Yeah, they will fit -- but its generally not a great idea, unless you are building a low compression N20 or blower 305.

That was one of my "early" gear head attempts at going fast. Dropped my compression 2 full points and killed low end power. graemlins/clonk.gif

The very first vehicle I ever owned was a '69 chevy truck with the original 307 and 487x 350 heads. The 76cc chambers caused it to have about 7.75-1 compression. With a stock -929 cam it still ran OK with a LOT of advance, but there are certainly better choices out there. I probably could have run it on 82 octane gas graemlins/clonk.gif
