I have a 350/350 in my RS and it seems to be pretty happy with the Edelbrock 600 carb and performer intake.

December issue of Sport Truck mag. has a budget (?) build up of a 327 with Vortec heads, Comp Cam kit and a Demon 625 CFM carb. Final output was 345 HP and 382 ft. lb. torque. Says the carb was run right out of the box. Pretty slick looking carb too.
4282010VE for 299.99 at Jegs but you might check around the net for a good deal with a discount, maybe carparts.com? This would be my choice if I was buying a carb new.

Theres only two Q-Jets. A 750 and an 800. The big one was used on big B-O-P and Cad's I think.

Go with a Q-Jet Performer RPM. pdq67

600 cfm to 650 is what produces the nicest powerband on desk top dyno

I don't think that it's an L-79 if it's got a Q-Jet on it. It might be the 325hp engine though. L-79 with a Q-Jet that came out in '67 Nova's.

If I woulda known that the 325hp/327 was the L-79 with a Q-Jet, I woulda bought a '67 Duece and now be over at the Nova site. If there is one. Ha! Ha!....Just kidding, but, Oh I wanted a '66 Duece Coupe in Aug. '66!!! pdq67

L-79 gets its power from higher compression, bigger valves, one of the best hydraulic cams ever designed, and a Holley on a very well-designed dual-plane high-rise aluminum intake. 365 hp L-76 is identical except it uses the "30-30" Duntov cam and solid lifters.

Excellent all-around Holley is the #0-80145; 600cfm Model 4150, dual-feed, center-hung floats, vacuum secondaries, electric choke. Have used six or seven of them - Jeg's, about $275.

You could consider a 365hp/327 as a stroked small jounal crank 290hp/302 Z-28 engine. Thats about as close to it as GM ever got.

The 360/370hp/350's were about the same except for big jounal cranks in 350's. But only the "mule" engine used the 30-30 Duntov cam. pdq67
