I am hopefully attaching my M20 to my 327 next weekend, provided I can swap out my pilot bushing! I know the bolt sizes I need to attach the tranny/bellhousing to the motor. Does anyone use washers for this? Will blue thread lock and the right torque specs be strong enough? please advise. Thanks!

The factory didn't use washers - so I haven't either.
Blue thread locker won't hurt a thing - the Red can be a real b1tch to get out of alum bellhousings sometimes.

washers aren't a bad idea, but i always like to use the bolts that have the flared out head to kind of spread the load- some cars had those stock.

I agree. Use flared bolt heads or (often) I use a small metric washer under the head of the bolt so it does not dig into the metal. The metrics are a little smaller in outer diameter and don't show much. A little parts shopping at Sears hardware should take care of it.

thanks for the responses. I think that I will pick up some grade 8 bolts and check out some washers too. Hopefully this will go smoothly, I'm putting this combination together for the first time!
