Radio DJ's joked after repeatedly plaing audio tape of Berg screaming.
How terrible!

paulm May 15th, 04, 09:45 AM Getting fired is not enough punishment for something like that.
ZZ430DropTop67RS May 15th, 04, 10:00 AM It's hard to believe that some Americans can be that insensitve.
383 May 15th, 04, 11:10 AM Disgusting...........
camaroman7d May 15th, 04, 12:58 PM They should get a one way ticket to Iraq and then see how they make out. Lets start a collection for their airfare. People that have seen death/grusome things never act that way, it's the ones that have no clue about it that seem to not take it serious. It's just not something to joke about if you ask me, and even more so the way this guy lost his life.
davidpozzi May 15th, 04, 04:12 PM I think it would be great if they did some reports live, from Iraq! I'd like to see how much they laugh then.
David
ZZ430DropTop67RS May 15th, 04, 04:25 PM Yeah, they seem to take the freedom we have for granted.
MrDanB May 15th, 04, 04:39 PM Well, I heard about those clowns on the local news, and I think perfect punishment would be to have the parents of Nick Berg suddenly show up at the station for a live interview, then get fired after they back pedal their a$$es off ;)
These 2 ba$tard$ need a dose of their own medicine  Maybe they can start a colony with Howard Stern or something, say, on Molokai with the leppers. That way they won't "infect" anyone else... :D
Dano
HwyStarJoe May 15th, 04, 05:10 PM ROFL!! Dan!! :D "A colony"..... classic.
It boggles my mind to even imagine them doing something like that. A long-time local DJ commented on air recently how he made sure he didn't watch anything past the beginning of the tape because he had NO desire to see the whole thing. As he scrolled down the site that the video was on, reading the article, don't they have a pic of them holding his head at the end? He said he almost got sick.
I would like to think everyone felt the same way, but some folks think they know something we don't.
DOUG G May 16th, 04, 12:45 AM I haven't seen it, nor do I want to. Lets send those DJ's over for the same "ending" and see how they scream. disgusting graemlins/sad.gif
Kyvox May 16th, 04, 03:20 AM To bad we don't have a tape of them being fired....we could set it to music! smile.gif
The firings can't just stop with these guys though. The producers of their program must have known they were going to do this, so they also go. Every employee of the station should be canned because they did not stop it. The sponsers need to be boycotted; after all, they paid for it. The CEO of the company, in Pennsylvania, MUST resign! He/She is ultimately responsible.
68ragtop May 16th, 04, 08:37 AM I for one beleive the video should be seen.
The prisoner abuse has caused more outrage than an American's beheading.
A few hours after watching the video, I was driving home and Hannity (talk radio host) was warning his audience that he was gonna air the audio, he shares my thoughts that the public should be aware of the grusomeness of this most dispicable act. He said he was going to count from 10, and anyone who did not want to hear should tune out for one minute.
When he started to count, I turned the channel. I never want to see or hear what I saw again. But I know I will see similar images in the future, Daniel Pearl was just the begining of things to come.
Soon we'll be worried about suicide bombers in our coffee shops, fast food restaraunts and school busses.
I fear there is nothing that can be done to stop this. Pulling out of Iraq will have no effect against these terrorists. If they had their way, they would kill all Americans they could, and to them it would not be enough.
There are MANY mosques in MANY countries that end their prayers with "death to Israel, death to USA" and have for YEARS!!
I beleive it is necessary to stay the course in Iraq, and make Iraq less hospitable to terror organizations.
I know this is not the venue for this type of post, but i feel moved to hit the add reply button... Djd, no hard feelin's if you wipe this post..
thanks
John
The posts concerned this topic are certainly relevant but we do ask that the links directly to the online video are not posted. It can be found easily enough by those who wish to view it without our automotive site linking directly to it.

choptop May 16th, 04, 08:50 AM People sometimes forget that having freedom of speech does not guarantee freedom from reaction and social consequences when the words are unpopular.
68ragtop May 16th, 04, 11:27 AM Well said choptop!!!

I beleive it is necessary to stay the course in Iraq, and make Iraq less hospitable to terror organizations.Back a couple years ago when this whole "going to Iraq" thing started, for whatever reason, I read everything I could find about the country and it's history. I didn't learn a whole hell of a lot except one thing stuck out over and over....
Getting rid of So Damn Insane aside, we're not the first country to try do do what the coalition is trying to do today in Iraq. Look back at the last 150 years... the French tried this, the British tried this, the U.S. tried this once before...... and every time it failed for one reason or another. It's got nothing to do with terrorists at all.
It's all about the Sunni's, the Shiite's and the Kurdish. The three groups of people who make up the majority of the population all want THEIR way to rule the country. It's been tit-for-tat between them for many decades. As soon as one group is put into power, the others will assasinate the leader and take over. That's exactly how So Damn Insane got to rule. It's been happening for more years than the world has been trying to change the country!!
The only reason 'terrorists' are in that country is because we've come to THEM, instead of them having to come to us. I don't try to understand the Muslim religion. I suppose I should. The reason the Shiite's and the Sunni's split into what we know today is a complicated religious thing. The majority of the people we're fighting against in Iraq are waging a religious fight.... not a terrorist fight. Terrorists just happen to mix in amongst them because it's easy for them to kill Americans and anyone else who support the 'coalition' when we're knocking on their doors day and night.
Granted, the group that supposedly killed Berg are labeled "terrorists". And they are for whatever reason. But I don't believe Iraq is full of terrorists, and only a very small percentage of the people fighting against the coalition there are actually terrorists. The people we're up against are fighting to make sure that THEIR 'people' have a fair shake at running the country.... like they've been doing for an extremely long time. Long, LONG before we got there.
And they will be for a long, LONG time after all of us are gone from this earth. Look at history.
We made a noble effort to help the peoples of Iraq and our success has done more FOR them than anyone else in history.
Now it's time to come home.
paulm May 17th, 04, 05:20 AM Well to follow Joe's lead, I think it just flat sucks that people all over the world think that it's OK to kill and hurt innocent people because of religion, politics, greed, etc. I'm hoping that some day the awareness of the preciousness and value of every human life will raise several notches across the planet so that these types of barbaric acts will decrease or even cease to exist.
Now back to my fantasy world where I can still by a new 69 camaro with every option for 5k and peace and love flourish across the world... :D
Scoop69RS-SS May 17th, 04, 07:29 AM I didn't need to know that he was screaming in the end. I took the advice from you guys and knew that it would come to no good end for me to watch it.
In my mind, I had hoped that the end came to him quickly with no additional torment from this barbaric act. I'm pissed, I'm saddened. I feel for the those who knew him.
Now here are two people making fun of this on the radio for personal gain? Somehow, this seems worse to me.
I just don't understand how anyone could do that? For an American to do that? I give up. I just plainly don't have a clue anymore.

68CMRO May 18th, 04, 03:45 PM "Tiny" (real name Andrew) and I used to go to the same church. I was a chapperone on many of the events and we even went to Mexico on a mission trip together. One of his older sisters was convicted in California for conspiricy to commit murder many years ago. I knew her pretty well also and that was quite a shock too! He has 2 brothers and 2 sisters and only one of the siblings seemed to do well in life. This one joined the Navy years ago but I lost contact with him.
What's strange is that the parents were so involved in our church and at least seemed like good parents. I still believe them to be. I just simply lost contact with them when they stopped coming to church out of embarrasment when their daughter was convicted.
I don't know what to make of this other than I'd like to personally rip Andrew's head off for his comments and complete lack of respect and dignity. On the other hand, I'm currently on active duty in Texas serving to protect his freedoms and to help those that cannot protect themselves. I have not heard for myself the episode and what took place, but I can only imagine what was said and I hope he serves time in jail for it! I'm very, very saddened to hear of what took place in Iraq and am troubled even more to find out it was the butt of some jokes by someone I use to know... :( graemlins/sad.gif
