I am cloning a 396 motor in my 69 camaro. It had A 6 cyl in it, I had a sub frame for a big block out of a 68,I have it in my car now I bought the motor mount frame brackets for the 69,and the motor mounts for the 69,I also have the 68 frame brackets and motor mounts. Neither seem to be working, it looks like the motor is setting to the right side (Passenger) to much it wont let me put the exhaust manifold on or the air conditioning evaporator case. I bought the big block evaporator core outlet case for it but stiil can't get it to fit right. If someone could give me some help on this it would be greatly appreciated. Brad,
You do need 1969, BB frame mounts AND rubber mounts so double-check what you have!!
And yes, the motor is moved over about an inch to the pass. side stock to clear the power steering gear box.
You can install the tranny using a three hole poly mount, (unless you want to buy a BB tranny cross member), by using the center hole in the poly mount and the pass. side cross member hole.
You aren't trying to use the Big Car/'Vette exhaust manifolds arwe you b/c they are usually TOO big, but some guys say they can be made to fit?? If so, get a pair of A/F/X car exhaust manifolds.

Brad -
I'm in the middle of doing this on my 69, and you absolutely need the correct exhaust manifolds, 3909879 left and 3916178 right. With the correct 69 frame mounts and motor mounts, the left manifold has very little clearance at the power steering box, which snuggles nicely into the hollowed out area on the -879.
I'm not doing A/C, so I can't help you there. Got all the air I need with the top down.
