I have an original numbers matching DZ302 that I was interested in pulling from my car, saving the motor, and building/installing a "dz clone". I was wanting to end up with a low end torque, good sounding LT1 or something like it in DZ disquise. I would like to use the same style 186 heads, dz carb, dz intake, 480 dist. ect. if we can still make it run good. Any suggestions for the crank, pistons, ect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i believe the LT-1 was just a stroked DZ... same block, heads, cam, intake, etc- just a longer stroke on the crank.

Are we talking LT1 or LT-1?

JCT69Z,

You need to look into my web site under mechanical / engines. This will show you what I did with my Z28. I did exactly what you asking for advice on. visit http://www.x33d80.com and go the the mechanical section where you will find engine details. Enjoy!

Greame...I've been trying to send e-mail to you for a couple of days and it keeps getting returned. I get a delivery problem message. Please advise.

Gary,

I was getting spammed with virus attempts so I changed my email and restricted it. I will send you an email right now.
