I am wondering if you can run a 350 with a 350th 4bolt mains to a 10 bolt rearend. also
it is a 6 cyl car origionally would there be a problem with the engine and tranny fitting.

The TH350 is a direct swap if you have the one normally installed in passenger cars (the case is shorter than those installed in trucks). You'll need to change the cable bracket and selector lever at the transmission, but can use your old shift cable. You may also want to change out the shift plate on your shifter to make the detents correct for the new tranny. As for the motor, motor mounts are a good start. I don't remember exactly everything I did, but I think you'll at least need a bigger radiator and new fan shroud.

As I recall the detent from 1st to 2nd on a TH350 is on the trans and the 2nd to 3rd is on the shifter. The shifters are the same, at least on Chevelle's. So I think you will only need to purchase a new shift indicator plate.
Your 10 bolt will be just fine. It is the same rear end as those used on V8 cars.

That may be right Steve. I went from the powerglide to a TH400, and it seems like the slots on the shifter don't line up exactly right, but I haven't really spent any time trying to adjust it correctly. It works well enough for a car that isn't on the road http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif The shift plate is sort of optional also, unless you want to see what gear you're in!

The motor is not an origional camaro motor. I think it is out of a 72 or 74 vehicle. I want to make sure before I purchase the car, I don`t have to change a bunch of things to make it run right. It is a 68 camaro, I forgot to say what year it was. How much difference is the 10 to a 12 bolt. also that would mean that it is a mono leaf rearend correct?? also it was an origional column

I've seen 10 bolts stand up to all sorts of abuse...its the 4 speed cars that are brutal on them. I had a 7.5 in my 84' and it did fine with my auto, but when my Chevelle was a 283 4 speed, it had no problem busting the 8.2 rear......guess i'm just a freakin animal http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif....or an idiot.....or both!

I think you're right - a 10 bolt rear end means it's probably a mono-leaf. I thought it was always true that a 10 bolt had mono-leafs, and 12 bolts had multi-leafs. But another recent post led me to believe this may not be true in absolutely all cases? It certainly stands true for most cases.
