"I" don't have a team- I aint no multi billionaire- I just sit at home and get mad when they gotta pre-empt real entertainment like the Simpsons to show a bunch of pumped up steroid freaks running into each other and smacking each other in the butt. there is, however, a group of guys that wear purple and yellow super hero costumes that do said bumping and smacking in a big building with a roof that's a big inflatable ballon about 40 miles from me. they call themselves "Vikings", but looking at them, i don't think too many of them came from any northern European countries- and come to think of it, not too many of them are even from Minnesota. they simply don't have the accent...

I prefer college football, but in general, I'm a football fan, I'll watch any game as long as the game isn't too much of a blowout.

Penn State is looking like they'll end up in the toilet bowl this year, however my favorite NFL team (the Steelers) is lookin' pretty good!

Racer X, you folks will be in good shape with the addition of Lawyer Milloy and the other personell changes made.

Lawyer Milloy is simply the real deal. It is game day for him every single day.

Frankly, the Pats losing Lawyer Milloy to the Bills is EVERY BIT AS BAD AS THE RED SOX LOSING THE BAMBINO TO NEW YORK.

We have now initiated a new curse upon Boston and all of New England. Maybe this will cancel out the Babe Ruth curse. I doubt it. graemlins/sad.gif

Chiefs looked really good in the first half and then coasted through the second. I do not think that I have seen an offense look that good. They put up 27 points on San Diego and it looked easy. And that was just the first half! Pittsburg should be a tougher game.

GO COLTS!!! One in the W column. Still have to work on Manning and the Defense. Looks promising though. Yes I am a California Native and a big Colts fan. How bout them RAIDERS ahhhhhh hahaha, I loved it.

Bears fans I feel for you, it is going to be a long season.

Bills fans you guys have something special, I was hoping the Colts would have picked up Milloy.

Niners looked ok, but they didn't even get tested. I think they will have a decent year as well.

No Dolphin fans?? I wouldn't admit it either, lol. That just goes to show any team, can fall to any team, on any given week.

I watch the highlights of every game and follow the sport closely.

Fantasy is a lot of fun, it makes all the games important, adds a reason to watch, and keep tabs on my team's players.

I've always been a Broncos fan.....from the 2 Super Bowl wins all the way down to the humiliating losing seasons.

I was at the game and it was awesome (felt like a playoff game!) The crowd went nuts for Lawyer Milloy and Takeo Spikes. Both of those aquisitions were huge for the Bills.

69CamaroRacer,

I won't hold the blue factor against you!

I have a been a LA Rams fan since 1983(Eric Dickerson's the man!)

My Rams are a big mystery to everyone, but it is so funny to see the beavis and butthead types on ESPN who barely acknowledge that there was even a team named the Rams in Sept of 1999 except to poke fun at them to a few months later naming them "The greatest show on turf" -GAG- graemlins/sad.gif all the while spouting off that Kurt Warner was basically a football mesiah. The next year they were the best team ever?? Well they lost in the playoffs.. no cakewalk. I was called a front runner by everyone and their brother... nope! I endured 10 straight years of horible teams from 1989-1999 season were they lost an almost NFL record 110 games! When the were tearing through the NFL in 1999-2000 I felt really weird like maybe the Cowboys & Rams switched uniforms. I really didn't know how to handle it??? But just as I got used to it they have brought me and many others back full circle.

The "experts" are now saying that Warner is washed up and the Rams suck again. AHH.... I feel at ease again... a born loser! graemlins/beers.gif

Your're right I did have at least one typo in my last reply. The Colts season is over in 5 days, not 6.

It is going to be a relative heat wave in Gillette this weekend though. Forecast is for 8 degrees this Saturday night, vs the 4 it was this past weekend.

I don't really care who goes from the NFC, but the only reason the eagles are still playing is because Mcnabb was the teams leading rusher. That ain't happening with the Panthers.

Patriots and Panthers in Houston.

Fellas..... being the one and only Rams fan here I want to first say that Carolina EARNED their way here.... my Rams are in B-I-G trouble.

The fans in Philly are notoriously the sorest losers out there even more than here in Cleveland! I'm afraid that they will again be sobbing in their cheese steaks this weekend when the Panthers take it to them big time.

As for the lovable AFC...... PATS---- hate em'...remember I'm a Rams fan(great defense! & not that Ghetto-Chit like in Baltimore). They play hard core "slobber-knocker" D. Tom Brady's real claim to fame is that he is one step away from being Donald Trump's son-in-law (TRUE STORY). Vinetari..... in the words of Jeff Spicolli..... "YOU _ICK".

Colts.... well..... who is going to show up? Dungy is a hell of a coach, but uninspiring just like my teams coach. My heart is with them because I have always been a closet Colts fan since the 70's. I just wish they were a little more physical especially going into that refrigerator in MA. If they can make it to the big show.......WOW!

Panthers & Colts this year.....

Rams & Browns ..... not next year not likely!

BTW

Why the heck does LA still not have team, but the "old folks" in Phoenix do?

Jan 12th, 04, 06:41 PM
Rich I agree the Colts need to be WAY more physical, they have taken a few steps in that direction but still need to be harder hitters. In all honesty I think it is going to be one heck of a game. Colts offense is way better than the Pats offense but the same can't be said for the defense. We'll see (defense usually wins playoff games), but that hasn't been the case so far with the Colts this year. Brady is over rated (IMO) hopefully Freeny will open a can of whoop A$$ on him, LOL. Good luck and may the best team win.

we'll see what happens in philly next week. in case you guys didn't notice, the eagles already beat the panthers near the end of the season. and this time it's in philly. what was that about green bay and destiny?? i think we took care of that. i'd give anything to be at pat's chomping on a couple cheesesteaks after the win next week. i can't be the only eagles fan in here, c'mon :D

You're not, and I do love Philly cheese steaks, damn they are good. I'm an Eagles fan, It's tough the way it works for me but I can't help how I feel. My favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys been a fan since Bob Hayes days. Eagles have always been my 2nd favorite. Cowboys are out so it's Go, Go, Go, Eagles. hey, in terms of team, the pats go all the way!!! to even say the colts will go to the superbowl is ridiculous, payton manning will choke before its over, and brady or vinetari will come thru bog time!!
and as always the pats defense will so up like every other game, they are gonna have payton wetting his pants with there blitz's, remember he can't move like Mcnair!!
Brady might be overrated, but what is payton manning??? when was the last time the colts went to the super bowl?????? i can't remember can you?? lol
anyways i bet it will be a good game, a tough one but inthe end the pats defense will keep it close and vinetari will win it if he has too, the guy is money!!

Tom Brady being Donald Trumps potential son in law explains why the "Donald", and Malenia (sp) was sitting in the Krafts booth on Saturday. I couldn't figure out his sudden interest in the Pat's. Brady sure has kept that quiet. I haven't heard a thing on the local news, or in print about it.

Is the daughter Ivanka, or are there other little Trumps running around?

My son (15) says one of his friends from school can get Superbowl tickets (father has player connections) if the Pats go, so I told him if he can get two we'll go. Doubt he'll get any but if he does I'll have to find a place to stay somewhere in Houston.

camaroman7d
Jan 13th, 04, 06:00 AM
Patriot fans are as bad as Raider fans I see. Good thing there aren't many around here. Come on now how can we even compare Brady to Manning. Nobody will even know who Brady is/was in a few years, he is a fluke. Take off your rose colored glasses and tell me you wouldn't trade Brady for Manning in a heart beat. (that tells you who is the better QB, I sure wouldn't trade Manning for Brady). Manning is a future Hall of Famer (no doubt).

Of course we are biased to our own teams. The Pats win ugly but they win.The Colts defense is a little weak/sloppy (that is the only thing that worries me). I know we will score and I know the Pats will score. We will see what happens this weekend. All the smack talking won't change that.

Come on now, how can you even think your kicker compares either. Who has the NFL record? He did not miss a kick this whole season (I think that would be Mike Vanderjagt). If it comes down to kicking I will be more than happy to take my chances. If the Pats win it will be ONLY because of the defense.

I am a big Colts fan but I am realistic as well. Keep it real guys. It will not be a blow out either way it will be a good game.

Eagles vs. Colts in the big game. (Eagles are there for sure in my opinion)

Mark C
Jan 13th, 04, 06:07 AM
Let's see:

Brady, 3 years as starter, results:

1 Superbowl Ring (Soon to be two)
1 AFC Championship (soon to be two)
2 AFC east Championships

Manning:

1 AFC South Championship.

Sure we'd trade Brady for Manning...., when Osama Bin Laden is Kicking Field Goals for the New York Jets. graemlins/clonk.gif

The current stats for New England vs. the Colts should tell it all:

SERIES TRENDS
Overall Record 40-24
Record in New England 21-10
Record in Indianapolis 13-6
Record in Baltimore 6-8
Total Points in the Series Patriots 1,497, Colts 1,147
Patriots' Largest Margin of Victory 39 points (10/6/74)
Patriots' Largest Margin of Defeat -31 points (11/26/72)
Highest Combined Point Total 72 points (11/30/03)
Lowest Combined Point Total 6 points (12/06/92)
Longest Patriots Win Streak 7 (1996-99)
Longest Colts Win Streak 3 (1970-1971)
Seasonal Sweeps Patriots 13, Colts 5
Current Streak Patriots, 14-4 since 1993

Current odds are New England giving 3 points with a 43 1/2 over under.

NE 24 - Colts 17.

Eagles are giving 4 to the Panthers.

Mark,
That was an interesting history lesson, but that has little to do wtih this weekend. True Brady has had 3 good years, but it is not because he is a great QB it's because it is a great scheme. Only time will tell. As I said before good luck and may the best team win. The higher the score the better for the Colts.

When comparing Brady to Manning, you have to look at the scheme and the supporting cast (coach and defense). We finally got a real coach this year, now all we need is a defense (adjustments).

Either way we will talk about this after the fact. I will be man enough to give you your props (if there are any to give). Can you say the same?

"...after all, the Eagles beat the Panthers."

Yes, but the Raiders beat the Chiefs too. :D

This has been a great, great season. The Eagles are doing it on the field. Kinda cool since they were written off at the beginning of the season. I'd give more credit to Peyton if it wasn't for all the damn talk I hear on the shows.

My favorite is Monday Night Countdown. (What the heck am I going to do until the next season?) Jaws, Stuart, "there's no "we" in team either" Irving and T.J spent a season gushing over Peyton. Yeah he's talented - sure, but I'll stick with Brady.

Tom's young and looks like he's getting the coaching he needs to go to the next level.

Pat's beat the Colts by 3.
Eagles beat the Panthers.
Pat's win the Super Bowl by 10.

Go LIONS!, errr graemlins/clonk.gif

So I have to go with foreign teams...

The Colts offense is alot more productive than the Pats, but the Pats defense is alot better than the Colts. Question is, which matches up better. Can N.E. score more points against the Colts defense or can the Colts offense score more on the Pats defense. It looks like the Colts, if they play anywhere near like what they did the last 2 games, will end up on top. Trouble is its hard to do it 3 games in a row.

Both of the NFC teams see 'destined' to go further. I think the key to this game is whether Philly can keep it close considering their pass defense is in trouble against Carolina. If they keep it close, McNabb will win it for them. If Carolina gets ahead by more than 2 touchdowns toward the end of the game, which they might, then the Eagles are done.

Colts-Carolina, Colts win in the Super Bowl graemlins/beers.gif

What's with everyone picking the Pats over the Colts by 3? Are all you Pats fans counting on Adam Vinetari winning it for you with a field goal just like in the Super Bowl? That guy is a fluke. Mike Vanderjagt is the real deal!! If anything it will be the Colts coming out on top by 3!

As for Brady vs. Manning, I would take Manning in a heartbeat no matter what the offensive scheme. He is just a great quarterback, with a mind for the game. Granted Brady does have a Super Bowl ring, but lets not forget who got them to the Super Bowl that year, Drew Bledsoe. Brady was just in the right place at the right time.

On the Defense, the Pats do have a better D, but I think that the Colts D is getting better. Let's not forget, the Colts just lost to the Pats on Nov. 23, and we haven't forgotten about that. The Colts also play much better on the road then they do at home (8-1).

I think that this game will be better then the Super Bowl this year no matter who makes it after this weekend!! I can't wait!!

Didn't Bledsoe come off the bench to score the winning touchdown for them that year? Brady couldn't go anymore that game, might have been an injury, not too sure, but it was the year that Brady replaced Bledsoe, Bledsoe sat out almost the entire game, Brady got hurt, then Bledsoe came in and scored the winning touchdown, as near as I can remember.

It was a great game. The Colts didn't throw in the towel and fought to the end. Peyton has the two minute drill down and they had a shot at it almost to the very last second. I sure as hell don't feel bad for them, but respect is due to them. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Speaking of respect, does anyone now think that Tom Brady isn't due some? I seem to remember some points on the board.

At the NFC, Donvan, I think, got let down by his team.

After two back to back games, it was midnight before my pulse finally lowered.

The Pats will beat the Panthers. (Oh please, oh please, oh please, oh please, oh please.) :D

Ty law was making athletic grabs that I wouldn't expect recievers to be able to get!!
The key to Manning is to push him around, get him moving, and hurry him, get him to lose his composure... kinka like Bledsoe.

I routed for the Eagles over the Panthers.

I don't think the Big show will be anywhere near as exiting as yesterday's Ne/Colts game...

Easy there Jake. I'm giving your Pats all the credit. They played a great defensive game against Manning and they made him make some mistakes.

All I'm saying about Manning vs. Brady is that I would rather have Manning leading my offense in any game over Brady. I'm not knocking Brady I just think that over all Manning is a better QB. I know that Brady is leading the Pats offense in 2 Super Bowls in 3 years, and that's great, but if Manning had a nasty defense like the Pats I just think it would be a different story.

Congrats again to your Pats, and good luck in the Super Bowl. You're going to need it against the front 7 of the Panthers. It should be a good game.
