A guy I know has a 4-speed trans. for sale and claims it's a muncie m-22. He says it's cast iron. I told him I thought muncie never made a cast iron transmission, that they were aluminum. Am I correct or is he? I told it may be an old t-10. I haven't seen the transmission yet. He may have been trying to pull a fast one.
Thanks Guys!

Right you are, Muncie never made a cast iron "Muncie" 4 speed. They made a ton of truck units. Doug Nash made cast iron cases for Muncies, very short time, I don't know of any that survive.
I have pics of the real deal on my web site.

Have a look.

Good chance it is a Saginaw. If all three shift forks are in the side cover that is what he has. Muncies and T-10's had two shift forks in the side cover and one in the housing.

If all the shifters arent on the cover it may be a cast iron T-10. Snatch it up, Cast T-10's are big bucks.
