i am claening,rebuilding,,new gaskets,etc, a M20 muncie trans,ok,i want to re assemble what is the stickiest grease that they sell,to help hold all those needle bearings in place ....any suggestions would be helpful..thanks in advance

Would vaseline work?? We used it to hold the ball bearings in the TH400 when we put in a shift kit.

That counter shaft is a PITA. I just used regular moly grease. I found it was easier with the trans standing vertical.

I know a retired transmission rebuilder who told me he once used peanut butter in a pinch. It is pretty sticky if you think about it. He said it worked pretty good. Maybe that's why they retired him?
I use wheel bearing grease, but if I did use peanut butter it would be Jiff, creamy not crunchy.

i just used good ole' axle/bearing grease and stood it up vertical and bam,,,got it all back together what i thought would be a pain(needle bearings) actually was easy....thanks for replies
