What is the HP rating of a 71 Camaro S.S. with the original 350.The engine is still in its stock form.

In '71 the L65 350 (2-barrel) was rated at 245HP, the L48 (4-barrel) was rated at 270HP and the Z28 (Holley 4-barrel)350 was rated at 330HP.

'71 motor VIN pad letters CGA, CGB and CGC are 245hp/350 motors.

Letters CGK, CGL and CGD are 270hp/350 motors.

And finally letters CGR and CGP are 330hp/350 motors so figure it's one of these two..

Year One lists the 270hp/350 letters as CJG,CGK,CJD and CGL

1971 Camaro SS350 had an L48 engine rated at 270hp. The correct engines codes are CJD for the auto trans and CJG for manual trans.

Oooop's, my bad, I forgot SS not Z-motor, 270hp..
