I have done the research and I am still not sure where the dual exahust hanger on the driver's side is located on an SS or if it has threads or studs. Some posts say drivers side inside others say outside. One pic had studs on it, but Ricks shows threads. Also is there a specific measurement to take to be sure one has not been welded on a car. Please help me to know what to look for.

I see they are being reproduced now. I don't know how accurate they are but I bet you can tell under close examination. It is usualy pretty easy to identify repro parts especialy freshly welded on repro parts. ;) There are numerous small things to look for on Hi-Po cars but if you would need to be VERY good to know them all. Some of the stuff is rarely pointed out. In the end we will need docs to back up a cars original configuration. Hopefully Jim M's work will provide us with the confirmations we all despirately want.
I have the plate on my car along with half of the original chambered exhaust hangar still attached. The chambered hangar is different as compared to a regular dual exhaust hangar as it runs to the back of the car on the part that bolts to the frame where the regular drivers side dual hangar drops straight down to the rubber part. MANY years ago I tried to remove the hangar and throw it away but the screws were rusted tight into the frame so I just left it on there. The rubber part rotted off but I replaced it with the rubber from a resto hangar when I put the chambered pipes on the car recently. I have a picture but it is hard to see the detail. Maybe when the car gets back from the paint shop I can get a better picture.

I wouldn't hang my hat on a dual exhaust car necessarily being anything special. I have old paperwork from a dealer; 3 of their 2-bbl '69s were ordered with the optional N10 dual exhaust. One of them also has gauges and and power front discs. Total N10 production was 5,545.

Thanks to all who replied. At least I know what it looks like.I am guessing that the holes in the plate lines up with the two holes that evidently is on every camaro coupe frame at that spot.

My 69 pace car does not have this bracket. Any ideas why?

Convertibles have thicker frame rails and did not need the reinforcement.
This might be a good time to mention a documented Aug '69 Z/28 that has neither the plate nor the large holes in the frame rail. Just 2 small holes for the bracket fasteners.

That is interesting. I have also heard that quite a few 4 speed floor shifter hole cutouts do not have any reinforcement on them but aparently some do.
