Hey Camaro Enthusiasts. Remember me writting stuff about my so called th350 tranny problems. Shifting and stuff like that. Well I finally blew the tranny. Pulled it out. It was a th200. Powered by a 350 motor. Not a good combonation. They were pretty stupid, whoever put that in. Oh, on my camaro rear end, there is a brace running from the pumpkin to the tranny? do I need that. Later

Sorry to hear about your trans problem. In regards to your statement about the brace running from the pumpkin to the trans.. It sounds to me like you have a 3rd Gen. Camaro and YES you must keep that brace. It must also be reconnected in as close to the factory location as possible. This brace is actually the Torque arm that controls pinion angle.

yeah I do have an 84, But there isn't anyplace on the 350 turbo for that bracket deal to go. WOuldn't the drive shaft support the pumpkin. My buddy told me I won't need that, and that is just acts as a traction bar or something like that. What should I do about bolting it up to the tranny???

CamArrow you most deffinately need to keep the brace as mentioned by the last reply. If you leave it off you will experience wheel hop out of this world, causing lots of suspension damage, especially with the 350 in front. There is a brace made to accomidate the 350 tranny but cannot remember where to get it.

This in in reply to the '84 camaro with th350 problem with torque arm problem. B&M racing products inc. makes a kit for changing over from a th700R4 to a TH350 and here is the part number for that kit. the kit is called TH200/TH700 to TH350 Changeover kit, Part Number: 30299. this will solve all of your problems that u will have except for driveshaft lengthening. For the changeover you will need to lengthen your factory TH700R4 driveshaft. I hope that this has solved any/all of your problems that you are having with your transmission.

Call Summit Racing, they have part numer BMM-30299 for 79.95. I allows the torque arm to connect to a t-350.
