Does anyone use a ball/cone design to bridge the collector to the head pipe? I put a set just before my mufflers ( Dr. Gas offering ) and like the ease of use as well as lack of gaskets. I haven't seen this offered by any mfg's except the JBA shorties I have for my GMC truck.

I have seen these before. I believe it was either Edelbrock or Borla, but, they were only the joints to be welded or clamped onto existing collectors. Had both the female and male sides.

Flowmaster sells them, but why bother buying from them when you can get them for half the price from any local muffler shop? they are a really common part that any decent exhaust shop will have in stock by the box load.

I am considering new headers and wondered if anyone made the headers already with the ball, instead of flanged, end.

If I understand your question correctly, Summit used to sell some stainless steel headers (made by Borla). They looked nice but I haven't seen any in person or spoken to anyone who has bought/installed them. I rounded up an old catalog and they were part number SUM-G4700, but I just checked their website and it said no longer available. Might be able to contact Borla and have them set you up with a pair if you like them. Summit's price was $349.99.
