I recently baught a 88 camaro from a junkyard. their was a litle noise from the rockers and alot of white smoke coming up thru the vent tube and out the exaust. We tighted the rockers and that fixed the noise .but I notice that it said( 0psi for oil pressure) I changed the oil pump to a mellings high volume oil pump started the car
it went to 30 at idle then droped to 0.I reved it up to about 4000 rpm and it barely raised to 3 psi.we took the valve covers off.
their is very little oil coming thru the rockers. We replaced the oil sending unit still the same ....If any one can help I would be more than greatfull. (305 T.B.I engine code E)

Did you try a mechanical oil pres. gauge?
I had the same problem on a 92s-10 and it said 0psi, I replaced the sending unit and it still said 0psi.
I hooked up a mechanical gauge and it shot straight to 40psi.

sound's like the mains are gone or the oil pump bypass is stuck wide open

Check your oil filter as well, make sure it is the correct one for your application. Just caiuse it spins on doesn't mean it is the right one. If you really have NO oile pressure I am sure you would hear it loud and clear. Hook up a mechanical gauge externally just to make sure . At 4000RPM with no oil pressure I think you would have found the problem in a hurry.

It's the right oil filter,Ive called around the cheapest I could find a shop to do the mains and the rod bearings..was 1800.00
but a friend of mine said he would do it for two hundred. So I guess I will go ahead and have him do it and I will let every one know
another question is do you have to turn the crank or can you just change the bearings

You should have the cranked checked and polished, cost $15.00. If it needs turning, our machine shop here charges about $60.

Don't just put it back in.
