Hi guys! I just sold a set of crane stamped steel roller tip rockers to a good friend. They worked great for me , but i am concerned for my friend. I used these on my motor with guide plates and screw in studs. He wants to use them on 882 smog heads with the stock pushrod slots in the heads with the pressed in studs. Will they stay on the valve stem this way or is he heading for disaster? Any knowledge of this would be greatly appreciated K.D.

He should be fine, imho, with using his head p/r slots with your rockers.

I called Comp Cams hotline and asked this question about using their roller tip rockers without guideplates. The first guy I talked to said it was no problem, called again and the next guy didn't recommend using them without guideplates!
