Hello guys, I had a question with reguard to my flex plate or "flywheel". My question was if I transfered the flex plate off a 25 year old 305 sbc that came with my camaro, to a rebuilt 305 which I have already done. Will this cause any issues with balancing or engine vibration . I didnt know about engine balancing etc. when I put my rebuilt engine together with the flexplate and tranny. I did install the flexplate the same way as it came off the other motor though. Thanks

You shouldn't have any issues with engine balance. The only small block requiring external weights for external balancing is the 400 CID V8.

However, it probably wouldn't hurt to have the flex plate neutral balanced by the shop.
