I plan to check the float level on my carb.
Can someone outline an effective way to do that? Some basic understanding would be great.
Thanks.

What kind of carb? Make and model of carb will help you get a better answer to your question.

With the engine running, remove the side sight plug. The correct level is when the gas level is just lapping the threads at the bottom of the hole. Loosen the locknut on the top of the float body and turn the slotted screw a little at a time to adjust. Counterclockwise will raise the level.

Thanks for your help...I've also found some diagrams on the Holley site.
Thanks.
