Green Machine Nov 30th, 00, 07:18 AM I've owned 3. 1 69 plain jane with alot of rust, but a good car anyway, 1 70 RS that was an original "little old lady" car. There was a service sticker from a dealer on the drivers door jam that had a new carb.,a tune up and oil change done in 1986 at 96000 miles. I bought the car in 1997 with 114000 miles on it. 18000 miles in 11 years, wasn't driven much. Sold it to buy a pickup. 1 69 SS that I currently own.

The car set perfectly level when everyone was jacking the back ends to the moon... I put a chevy 327/350hp cam, headers, Mallery dual point dist & coil and a holley spread bore on a chevy alum hi-rise into it, along with many other little thing.
The other two are in my signature...

allcamaro Nov 30th, 00, 05:18 PM I lost count a few years ago.Im one of those people you do or dont like in the hobbie because I want to have as many as I can posibly have in one life time.I am a GM Dealer and late model Camaros are a lot of fun to have during the day but at night when I get home its old car time and I get to play with the old ones.I am finishing a frame off on a Black /Black L89 Car.Two of the most fun were a couple of 1967 Z/28`s that were twins, one came from Reggie and the other from across the big river in Hawaii. Both were red w/black stripes and RS cars. Both had cowl plenum and one had factory headers. One was average options and the other had 32 options.Very cool cars wish I could have kept them. When I win the lottery ill keep them all.

pete b Nov 30th, 00, 06:33 PM I've owned 4 total.
#1 was a 67 I bought when I was 16. It was the first car I bought, and it had big tires out back, *** end in the air, sidepipes, huge Mopar pro stock hood scoop. After I started to work on it I realized what a rusty piece of $*#t it was.
#2 was a 68 327 base coupe I rescued from a stoner who sold it to me for $200.00 after he backed it into a telephone pole.
#3 is my current 68, also a 327 base coupe. I paid $600.00 for it because the guy said it had a cracked block. It was a freeze plug.
#4 Had a 74 for about a month.
JonT Nov 30th, 00, 07:32 PM 2 - one primer grey '69 base coupe with a 350 that I sold because the body work would have cost a fortune (learned invaluable lesson there) and my current '69 base coupe that I've had about a year but not yet on the road. The body, however, is perfect ;> )

JohnZ Dec 1st, 00, 07:24 AM Have had 5:
'69 Z28 (in late '69 - traded for '70-1/2)
'70-1/2 Z28 bronze, white stripes
'85 IROC Z28 (company car - stolen)
'85 IROC Z28 (company car - also stolen)
'69 Z28 (untouched, 31K miles - 8/00)
Guy who handled company cars in '85 kept bugging me to order something more mundane, but I wouldn't - car thieves loved IROC's in 1985. Both were found stripped to the bare shell within 2 weeks, but I got my checkbook and prescription sunglasses back both times by rummaging through the weeds where the shells were found. Never found the new suit I had just picked up, though - somewhere there's a very well-dressed car thief. http://www.camaros.net/forum/cool.gif

Chris396 Dec 1st, 00, 06:34 PM This one is my second. I saved up and bought a red (of course) with black Z/28 stripes '68 Camaro when I was 18. It was a piece of junk. I had to replace both ball joints, front tires because of bad alignment, new starter, two fuel filters (gas tank was full of rust), tranny, carburetor, heater core.
The roof was bubbling under the vinyl top. The subframe was badly rusted. I found out one fender was riveted and welded on. I loved the body style, the size, and everything else about the car. When I sold it I always knew I wanted another Camaro. I bought a '69 Chevelle SS396 when I was twenty. I kept it for a year and sold it. I started to save up for a convertible. The more money I saved the pickier I got. At some point I decided I had to have a '69 with a 4-speed (although I came close to buying a tripower GTO convertible).
After more than five years of saving and looking I found my car that I have now. Now I'm adding cool options to it as I find them. I've added a tilt wheel. I found a nice factory 8-track player to mount on the console. I just bought some Torque Thrust Wheels. I'd like to add a set of L89 aluminum heads. A JL8 service package would also be nice.

Stewie Dec 2nd, 00, 04:38 AM Starting in 1969 I had a brand new 1969 Rallye Green Z/28. It was my first car out of college. I had very little money. There is quite a story behind this one. Bear with me and I will tell it. In 1969 as you all know the new model year was delayed. The 70 Camaro that was listed in brochures was the same as the 69. The 70 1/2 was the new body style. In Canada a lot of buyers stopped buying the 69s waiting to see what the 70 1/2 looked like. A local high performance dealer, Carter Chev Olds collected all the Camaro's from all the area dealers to sell on his High performance lot. When I went to purchase a car in August of 1969 there were about 35 69 camaros on the lot. There were about 15 Zs, a bunch of 396s and one yellow one that sat little higher than the rest, it had a cowl hood and spoilers no emblems and these funny dog dish hubcaps. It was parked next to this Rallye Green Z. The Z had no console no tack, no radio, the only options were style trim, spoilers and the Z package it even had the fuel gauge where the tack should have been. It also had the lowest sticker price of any of the cars on the lot so I bought it. Oh yea the yellow one. I asked the Salesman what it was and he opened the hood. Of course it was a COPO iron block. The first one I had even seen. He told me about the sticker price of over 7000 Canadian dollars. The Z listed for $4600, and I bought it for $3600 and a 62 six cylinder nova. I kept that car until 1974, I only drove it in the summers and sold it when gas went from 45 cents a gallon to 75 in over a month or so. I still have the protecto plate and the original invoice. But I have no idea where the car is.
My second camaro was a glacier blue Z I bought in 1986. It was painted black and had a non numbers match 302. I traded it with cash in 1996 for my current Garnet Red Z/28 with only 30,000 original miles. Oh yes one more thing We heard that the Yellow car was puchased and was totalled three weeks later. Camaro collectors are still combing the local salvage yards for that one.
