I've got a TH400 hooked up to my small block, and I don't have any kickdown wiring or switch. I don't really like the factory kickdown switch, and I was wondering if anybody had any clever ideas they have used to make their own.

I am aware that Lokar makes a pretty trick setup, but it's a bit expensive...any ideas?

A microswitch on the carb lever/linkage would work.

B&M makes a TH400 switch kit for about $30-35. I have one and it works great. Just doesn't look stock.
I've seen them in the resto calogs as well if you can't find one localy. Summit should cary them as well.

You can get a microswitch from any Radio Shack for a couple of dollars.

It's just a small switch with a lever that can be mounted to a bracket.

Two wires from the solenoid can be attached easily.

When at full throttle, the carb lever makes contact with the switch lever, and the kick down works.
