I really need some help with my 1983 Z28. I can't find anyone who can help me. I converted my crossfire fuel injection to a four barrel carb. Now the fuel pump in the tank is over powering my manual pump on the block (just installed). Do I need to install a manual fuel sending unit in the tank? If so, how do I get a hold of one? Every single website I've found has advised that it is a discontinued part. I really need some expertise here. I'm out of ideas.

you need a bypass regulator, before the machanical fuel pump. Hook your old return line from the tbi setup to the return side of the regulator, and adjust the reg for 6 psi. Holley, and others make regulators, make sure it's a bypass type, with 3 connections.

Thanks, I really appreciate the help. I went to look for bypass regulators and found many different types. Can you possibly recommend a certain product. I hate to ask so much from you but all of the sites I have found keep giving me certain regulators that are compatible with their fuel pumps. Does that matter? I saw that most can be used on GM cars. I found one from aeromotive. The A1000? I'm clueless. Any Ideas?

A regulator is a simple machanical device, usually used on race cars. Stay far away from anything indtended ofr fuel inection, you need to keep the pressure down to 6 psi.

At summit racing, I see one from Barry Grant, bypass type intended for carburated cars, #BGI-17102, $69.95, Aeromotive #AEI-13205, $81.95 would do it too.
