ok... i blew up my engine for the second time in the last three years. this time due to the machine shop not setting up my heads right. (i wiped a cam) so back to the drawing board. i am tired of building average power, and want you opinion on what i am doing.
350 010 block .030 over
4340 eagle 3.75 crank internally balanced
h beam eagle 6in rods
speed pro forged flattops ~10to1 cr
comp cams either 282xr or 288xr (want your opinions)
1.6 roller rockers
AFR 195 or 210 heads (again your opinion as to what would work best with the cam)
holley mpfi commander 950 system
1 3/4in hooker headers, 2 1/2in american thunder exhaust
tremec tko and 3.5 ford 9"
a friend at my local machine shop said that i would not really notice the power loss with the 210 heads but i dont know... i want your opinions. is it warranted to have these big boys on this motor. the car will be charged eventually w/ dished pistons, but dont want to get something i dont need. the lift will be somewhere between 540 and 565 depending on the cam i pick.
this motor is already in the works, but have not yet purchased the top half.
your opinions and suggestions as always are appreciated.
