Anybody ever hear of a 327 4 bolt main engine??? Maybe a truck motor.... seems to me I remember talking about one several years ago. Need any info available if such an animal exists. graemlins/clonk.gif

GM never made a 327 4 bolt main. I have asked this question on here before. Machine shops have converted some, but it didn't leave GM that way.

Gambit is right. However, it is easy enough to put a large journal 327 or 307 crank in a 4 bolt 350 block to build your own 4 bolt 327.

I believe the newer GM trucks have a base engine that equates to 327ci with 4bolt mains. Nothing from the past though as the others have stated...

The newer Chevy/GMC trucks (99 and up) have a 5.3 liter engine which equates to 325 to 327 cubic inches depending on who's doing the converting. However, these engines have 6 bolt main caps. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

thought I read in one of the mags that the late 90's trucks had iron block LS1's in them!

I beg to differ. We found this piece of crap boat about 5 years back, just for the engine, we origianlly thought it was a 350, so we tore it down, brought it to the machine shop, and it was a 327, 4 bolt mains. i have picures somewhere. The boat was from the 70s, and the way the thing was rusted into the boat, it doesnt appear to have ever been taken out, but it was a 4 bolt main 327. I still have the rods and pistons if anybody wants them, they are stock and still in good shape. To bad the 327 block was cracked...=(

Sorry guys, all i have are the rods and pistons, there was a 7 inch crack down the side of the block, nobody winterized the boat, so we discarded of the block, if there are any numbers i can find on the rods or pistons i will look for them, but everything else is gone..

large journal 327 bottom end in a 4 bolt 350 block. seems easy enough.

Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, no new taxes, your wife understanding why you spend so much on the car, and 4-bolt 327 blocks. All in the same catagory! :D

Oldani, that's why I got my car before I get married. So I don't have to worry about explaining anything to a wife(boss). lol

No such thing as a 4-bolt 327 from the factory. Ever. Absolutely. Positively.
