Recently I picked up a good 4 bolt 350 motor and was wondering what the original application was. I do not have the casting number yet as there was too much crud covering it up but here is the engine stamping from in front of the passenger side head:
V1015TFH and then under that is CAS119620
Does anyone have any idea what the application of this motor was?

I can only tell you this much:
V1015TFH
V = Flint engine plant
10 = 10th month
15 = 15th day
T = Truck application
FH = ??? (no info on truck blocks)
Sorry I couln't help more, but looks to me like your engine is from a truck. The casting # and date code from the rear of the block will help determine more info.

The list I found has TFH as a 1972 truck engine from a conv. cab with manual transmission rated at 175hp.

Yes, the dipstick is on the passenger side.
I finally cleaned the block and wrote down the casting number but then I left the slip of paper at the house. I will post it here tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for the input.

TFH = 1972 350cu 175hp m/t - C&K 10-20
or
1980 350cu 155hp, LS9 m/t - C20-3500
From what Dave says, it is the 1980 LS9 350cu.
