What do you guys think of this engine ? http://www.paceparts.com/product.asp?0=0&1=0&3=56214 Would the cam that comes in this engine give it a lopey idle ? There's not a price listed yet; I'm guessing that it will be around $ 5,000.00; the HT383 lists for about $ 4,000.00. I read somewhere that the crank used in these engines is a 4340 forged piece that sells for around $1,200.00 by itself.

You like that, check out this. It should be around the same cost from GM:

Wow ! They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for (most of the time) ! I wonder if these engines come with the 3yr/50,000 mile warranty like the other GM crate motors ?

That is my understanding as well. 3yr/50k for a replacement crate and 12mo/12k for performance builds.
