Right now im running a goodwrench 350 with a performer rpm intake and a 600 cfm holley in my 69, and that motor is a dog. A buddy of mine is offering to sell me his 601 casting heads,58cc with 184 int/1.5 ex. and a sbc performer intake for $100. my question is, would these heads offer any substantial gains for this motor, or should I not even bother?

I think the Goodwrench engine's heads are 76 cc's with about -12 cc dished pistons, so going to the -601 heads should put you up to about 9.64 to 1 CR. using .038" headgaskets from it's crummy, stock 7.9 to 8.1 to 1 CR.??
And a Crane 272/272 Energizer or a CC 268HE cam would help a bunch too, along with a set of four tube long headers, imho..
Just don't beat on that Saginaw too much or it might decide to leave you as may your 10 bolt..
