What is the appropriate method of cleaning a bronze fuel filter? I'm assuming, as with K&N's, you don't want to submerge the element and contaminate the inside surface.

Rick,
I've cleaned them with carb cleaner, you can soak them in it, then blow out with compressed air.
They can plug up with very fine dust particles and look like they are fine.
Try blowing through it to prove there is no restriction.
I dont' like to use the bronze filters, I prefer a screen or paper element.
